Run for a Day, Play for the Weekend
Whidbey Island is the perfect island weekend getaway where you can leave the city behind. Just north of Seattle, nestled up in Washington State’s Puget Sound is Whidbey Island. As a destination vacation playground for many, the island provides a vehicle accessible getaway from the busier mainland. Providing picturesque ocean views and tranquil farmland, the full marathon and half marathon courses promise to be scenic from country back roads to waterfront coastlines, snow-capped mountains and rolling hills.
SALISH SEA ROAD RACE SERIES
The Whidbey Island Marathon (September 13) has partnered with the Capital City Marathon, North Olympic Marathon and Bellingham Bay Marathon to form the Salish Sea Road Race Series.
All series participants who complete 3 of 4 races (any distance) will receive commemorative Salish Sea Running Series apparel at the Bellingham Bay Marathon including series finish medals and other swag.
Individuals are automatically entered in the series after registering for one of the 4 partner races. After registering for any of these events, series participants receive “partner event” discounts to the other three. Each discount will be 15% off and you will receive the discount code once you’ve registered at full price for the first. Discounts will be given on any race distance each has to offer.
Whidbey Island Marathon, Capital City Marathon, North Olympic Discovery Marathon and Bellingham Bay Marathon, combining efforts to provide the best road running (and walking) experiences in Western Washington!
