Is there a time limit for the Full Marathon?
All registrants are expected to be able to complete the full marathon course in six (6) hours. For the full marathon there are check-points that will need to be reached by certain times in order to keep up with the road and Navy Base access closures.
What timing device will be used?
The timing is a disposable chip timed course along with a gun start for the prize money. There will be split timing mats on the course at turnaround points.
What is the minimum age to participate in the Marathon? Half Marathon?
All athletes in the Full Marathon must be 16 years old or older. If you are younger than 16 and have a legal guardian, please contact us with this request.
There is no age limit for the Half Marathon.

Will bikes, skates, baby joggers be allowed on the Full or Half Marathon course? How about the 10K or 5K?
Yes and No.
In accordance with USATF rules, these items will not be allowed on the Full or Half Marathon course. Anyone found to be using these devices will be disqualified.
Strollers/baby joggers only will be allowed on the 10k and 5k course, however for safety reasons, participants with strollers/baby joggers will need to start at the back.
Are dogs allowed on the course?
No. Dogs will not be allowed on the courses.
Is there a Pace Team?
Yes, there will be a Pace team for the Half Marathoners.
Where will the bathrooms be located?
Portable toilets will be located at each start line, at every water/aide station approximately 1 ½ to 2 miles apart along the course and at the finish line.
How do I know if I am registered?

What is the cancellation policy?
In keeping with standard marathon and/or event policy, the Whidbey Island Marathon / Half Marathon and 10K / 5K / 1K does not offer refunds of registrations for any reason. You may transfer your registration to another person or defer your entry to the following year. To do so, please email us at: email@example.com with your request.
If I’m registered for the Full Marathon can I switch to the Half or 10k?
Yes – We are happy to switch you from one event to another. You will be charged the difference if you are going up in distance but there will be no refunds for downgrading from a longer distance to a shorter distance. To request a change – please email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
There are no event changes on race day.
Can I pick up my packet on Race Day?
Yes, but you must pick up your bib between the hours of 5:45 a.m. – 6:30 a.m. for the Full and Half Marathons. It is not encouraged to wait until race day as you may be delayed from being able to start your race on time if the lines are long. You will pick up your packet at the start line of your desired race. Shirts will be given AFTER the race if you are picking up on race day.
Can you mail me my packet?
No, we cannot mail you your race packet. You are required to pick it up at the Health & Fitness Expo on Saturday or on the day of the event at the start line.
What is the average temperature on Whidbey Island?
It is usually slightly overcast to sunny on race day with temperatures ranging on average from 52 degrees up to 65 degrees. It is Washington and it is the spring time. It could be colder and it could be windy and/or rainy – Please check the forecast before starting your run and dress accordingly.
